Meet the artist

About me

I am Veera Kuula, a fine artist based in Kuusamo. My history with art-making is long, diverse and filled with passion, and my current university level art studies play a key role in becoming a professional artist in the future. I attended art school in my hometown from 2009 to 2021, so art has been an important part of my life ever since I was little. I make art commissions as well as artworks that follow my own interests, mainly using traditional tools. The purpose for my art is to raise joy and help people observe and understand the beauty of nature, humanity and the world around us. I want to bring art closer to people, and also hope to inspire others by sharing my own artistic journey.

Inspiration and motivation

I get inspired by my own observations as well as the universal things around us. Books, stories and the thoughts they raise inspire me a lot, and in addition to that I also get inspired by nature, music and all the people around us.

“Artist’s eyes are ever-watching, always observing. They collect material from all around them, and store it in the archives of their mind. An artist understands that boredom is nonexistent, because each moment in life is material – material for the source of bottomless creativity.”
